Melissa purchased Riverside Farm in 2017 so that she could live and promote a sustainable lifestyle. In that time, Riverside Farm has begun to increasingly embrace organic farming practices wherever possbile. This ensures that Riverside Farm's animal occupants live a happy and healthy life, and the environmental impact of the farm is minimised. Riverside Farm has a boutique orchard with a variety of fruiting trees that house a menagerie of chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, and Charlie the farm cat who thinks that she's a duck. Next to the spacious vegetable garden, Riverside Farm's goats, Pru and Cilla, watch over the small herds of alpacas and Dexter cows. Melissa's long term goal is not only to become self sufficient, but to leave a positive envrionmental footprint.
